Reference Department

The Reference Department is located on the first floor of the Library. It is the focal service point and provides research and instructional assistance to the University's students, faculty, staff, and local community. The department houses a variety of print, microform, and electronic resources of the Library including: the online catalog (HORNetCat), general and specialized encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories, handbooks, indexes, atlases, and bibliographies.

The Reference Desk is staffed all hours the Library is open. Reference Staff is available to help users in person or by telephone. To reach the Reference Desk please call 334-229-4110.

Printed materials in the Reference Collection may only be used within the Library. Electronic resources can be accessed from any computer, at home or on campus. Please ask at the Reference Desk if you need help accessing electronic resources outside of the Library.
