About the Center for Information Literacy

The Center for Information Literacy (CIL) is located on the 5th floor of the Levi Watkins Learning Center (LWLC), in Room #567.

The mission of CIL at LWLC is to create frameworks where students develop and sustain information research ability skills set. The Center is a venue where librarians and faculty collaborate to design research assignments and projects; develop evaluation and assessment strategies to determine the impact of information literacy on student learning, retention, and academic success.

Our Goals

  • Collect data from services offered and document all sustainable processes empowering students to become information literate by the time of graduation.
  • Guide students in their acquisition of information literacy abilities, lifelong transferrable skills, and critical factors in student retention and academic success.
  • Align the mission of the Center with the ASU Quality Enhancement Plan

Objectives

Serves as a venue for training and planning activities designed to develop and sustain students information literacy abilities.

Assessment

Faculty and librarians will develop a culture of assessment as learning.
