3D Printing is the process of converting a 3D Model into a solid, three dimensional object. The type of 3D printing used in the LWLC is the extrusion of molten plastic through the print head and deposited, layer on layer, to create the object.
Creating a 3D print
The Levi Watkins Learning Center (LWLC) is pleased to offer 3D printing services to the University community for a fee. Patron may submit their 3D print jobs (STL) files using the submission link below. Library staff will print the design
and notify you when to pick up your completed job at the circulation desk.

Q. How do I find a free model to print?
A. You could find a free ready-to-print 3D design from Thingiverse, Cults 3D, Pinshape, etc.
Q. How do I create my own model to print?
A. You could create your own design at TinkerCAD, Morphi, BlocksCAD, Leopoly, 3D Slash, Sculptris, Vectary, Meshmixer, SketchUp Make, etc.
Q. When am I supposed to make payment for the service?
A. We will contact you with the cost within days of submission.
Q. How is payment made?
A. Patrons will pay for their 3D print jobs using a library's print card.
Q. How many colors can I choose from?
A. Objects will only be printed in a single color. Color will depend on the filaments available in the library.
Q. What happens if I don’t pick up my object within a month?
A. Items not picked up after 20 days become the property of the library.
